Privacy notice

This explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it, whether you've visited our website, contacted us, or heard from us about our services.

Who we are

Nortevant Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17552734), with its registered office at 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. Nortevant Ltd is the controller of the personal information described here, and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration number ZC288658). For anything to do with your information, email contact@nortevant.co.uk.

When you visit our website

We don't set cookies or use analytics or tracking. Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our lawful basis for this is legitimate interests, in having a website that works and is safe.

The free AI check and the team preview run in your browser. Nothing you enter in them is stored or sent to us. If you choose to email us, including your AI check results, we receive only what you send.

When you contact us

If you use our contact form, your name, business name, email address and message are passed through Formspree, our form provider, and arrive in our email inbox. We use what you send us to reply and, if you'd like, to arrange a call or prepare a proposal. To prepare, we may look at publicly available information about your business. If we don't end up working together, we delete your enquiry within 12 months of our last contact.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, in replying to you. If you ask for a proposal, it's taking steps you've asked for before entering into a contract.

When we contact you about our services

To contact businesses that may find our services useful, we use the business contact details of people who make decisions for their organisation: name, job title, business email or phone number, and company name. We find these in public sources, including company websites, job adverts, Companies House and professional networking profiles such as LinkedIn.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests. Our interest is in letting businesses know about a service that could help them, and in growing Nortevant. We think that's a fair reason to get in touch because:

  • we only contact people in their work role, about something relevant to their work, using details they or their organisation have made public
  • we only send unrequested emails to limited companies and LLPs, as UK direct marketing rules allow. We don't email sole traders or partnerships unless they've agreed to hear from us
  • we keep it short: one message and up to three follow-ups
  • every message says who we are and how to opt out
  • we never use sensitive information about you

If you don't respond, we delete your details within 12 months of our last contact. If you ask us to stop, we stop straight away and keep only what we need to make sure we don't contact you again. We've weighed our interests against your rights and freedoms, and you can ask us for a copy of that assessment.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your details. We only share them where we need to in order to run Nortevant:

  • People who help with our sales. Someone working with us on sales and calls can see the details of the businesses and people we're contacting. They can only use them for Nortevant, under written terms.
  • Our service providers. These are the companies whose software we use to host our website, receive contact form messages, send and store email, documents and bookings, send outreach emails, check that email addresses work, and research and draft messages with AI tools. They act on our instructions.
  • If we have to. We'll share information if the law requires it, or if we need to deal with a legal claim.

Where your information is stored

Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, countries outside the UK, including the US and India. When that happens, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on contract terms that protect your information, as UK data protection law requires. Email us if you'd like more detail or a copy of those safeguards.

Your rights

  • You can object to us contacting you at any time, by replying to any message or emailing us.
  • You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.

How to complain

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to us. Email contact@nortevant.co.uk, or reach us any other way you prefer. There's no form to fill in. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, keep you updated and tell you the outcome without undue delay.

You can also complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commission (still known as the ICO), at ico.org.uk. You don't have to come to us first.

If you become a client

How we handle your business's information is set out in our agreement with you, including our data processing terms.
